Hog Farm Worker (Argyle)

Calvern Farms Ltd. is a 450 sow farrow to finish hog operation located near Argyle, Manitoba. We currently have one opening for a swine technician (NOC: 8253).

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent full-time, alternating weekend work required.
WORK LOCATION: Calvern Farms Ltd., SW 14-14-1W, in the RM of Woodlands, Manitoba, R0C 0B0
SALARY/BENEFITS: $15 per hour, 10 days paid holidays, Worker Compensation Board worker insurance

Duties include:

  • feeding hogs
  • pressure washing
  • breeding
  • assisting farrowing sows
  • maintaining herd health and environment for hogs
  • moving and loading hogs
  • carrying out hygiene routines
  • general maintenance and cleaning


  • must have at least two years’ experience working with hogs
  • must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • excellent problem solving skills
  • valid driver’s license
  • must be able to work alternating weekends
  • strong communication skills
  • must we able to work well with others, as well as alone
