Summary

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment. The successful candidate will also be required to perform maintenance duties and other tasks assigned.

This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions:

  • Electrical equipment (AC Drives, power control circuits, starters, MCC’s, motors)
  • Microprocessor based systems (PLC’s, Electronic circuits, controls)
  • Instrumentation (pneumatic controls, PID, transducers, servos, analog/digital signals)
  • Conduct Planned Preventative and Predictive Maintenance and keep maintenance records
  • Recommend and implement corrective action and required repairs
  • Assist in planning, organizing of work activities (drawing interpretation, parts preparation)
  • Recommend and implement corrective action and required repairs
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair
  • Low and medium voltage distribution systems (single and three phase systems)
  • power distribution and generation (generators, transformers, switchgears, breakers)
  • HVAC, emergency systems (boilers, refrigeration, energy control, alarm)
  • Understand and adhere to all plant Food/Health and Safety Polices.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Red Seal Trades Certification required as well as strong electrical, instrumentation, automation, pneumatics experience
  • Weight Scales, HMI, Allen Bradley SLC5 PLC, VFD, Servomotors, Profibus/Ethernet Network Communications experience essential
  • Strong decision making, problem solving troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimal supervision
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills required
  • Available for weekend overtime as production demands require
  • Must be able to work shift work as required
  • May be required to bend, lift and climb while wearing the appropriate equipment
  • Working in various environments and exposure to chemicals
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office as well as an ability to adapt to other software applications
  • Strong focus on food safety and workplace safety
