Day 10 brought me closer to home on a high note. I left Emerson this morning with a tail wind and covered the distance to Morris in about an hour and a half.

The Manitoba Pork BBQ slated for Morris was extremely well attended, the success was in no small part due to the efforts of Pat from the Morris Food Bank. She and Rosalee put the word out to everyone in town and when church let it was porkdamonium. They raised just shy of $1,000 (net) for the food bank. In addition Wayne Jones from the local BMO branch was on hand to present a sizable cheque from the bank and it's employees that will stay in the community. Great job by everyone. Special thanks go out to Susan Riese from Manitoba Pork and Dana Todd from Harvest they rock. (I took a couple of pics.)

After lunch I rode to St Rochelle to rejoin the trail. Although I wasn't following trail route today, the mileage was more than I would have covered on the trail and I was able to attend a great event in Morris.

Tomorrow is a big day of riding and the day after is National Hunger Awareness Day. Mark Tuesday June 2nd on your calendar, 11:30 at the offices/warehouse of Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg ave. Come on down, kick in a few bucks for pork on a bun and support Harvest.

Thank you for your ongoing support.  Ken
