Day 7
Date: May 28, 2009
Distance: 119 km
Time in Saddle: 6 hours 10 min
Maximum Speed: 63.5 kmh
Average Speed: 19 kmh
Chase driver: Rob Nickel
Riders: Ken
What a day, it is not a type-o, top speed of 63.5 kmh. (Steep hill, wind at back) This is doubly amazing when you consider that this number is one third the terminal velocity of a man duct taped to a mountain bike and pitched out of an airplane. It's a fact.
Long day in the saddle but tons of fun. Very tired but here are the high lights.
The day started with a good tail wind that moved around a bit as the day went on. Got lost once or twice, sometimes the route markers seemed to have been run over. (See pic.)
Got to ride through a wind farm in St. Leon. There had to be over 100 of them. They are HUGE and very cool. (See pic.)
Fell into a bog of fermenting vegetation and well fertilized top soil. Stinkiest booter ever. (Thankfully no pic.)
Best news is that I am still half a day ahead of schedule and looking forward to the event tomorrow in Morden. I'll tell you about it tomorrow.
That's it for know.
As always, thank you for your support. Ken
