Manitoba Pork Council works with local colleges and universities on developing programming related to pork production. While the best education is found on the job, there are several options for people seeking an education that could lead to employment in the pork industry.

Pork Production Technician Apprenticeship

This program is offered by Assiniboine Community College. Graduates receive the status of Journeypersons Pork Production Technicians, from Apprenticeship. The Journeyperson is certified to handle and care for hogs in the breeding, farrowing, nursery and grow/finish stages of pork production.
