Our mission statement

Manitoba Pork and its producer membership are committed to creating and fostering strong community links, to positively impact the communities in which we live, work, and play.

Making community connections 

As the organization representing Manitoba's 700 pork producers, Manitoba Pork identifies needs in the community that we can meet with pork producer dollars, product and/or in-kind donations, hoping to benefit others.

Pork producers believe it is their responsiblity to give back to the community. Their commitment enables Manitoba Pork to support many worthy local causes: 

  1. We support food security programs;
  2. We champion local charities that promote healthy, active lifestyles; 
  3. We cheer on local sports teams and athletes; 
  4. We partner with the local culinary and food service community; and
  5. We participate in agriculture and food education opportunities.

As superbly delicious as they are fun!

The first (and best!) contact many Manitobans have with Manitoba Pork is at a pork on a bun barbecue. Even if you haven't tasted our famous smoked pork loin sandwiches, you may have seen our brightly-coloured barbecue carts at events around Winnipeg and the surrounding area.

Local producers with a local presence

Although much of the pork produced here is exported out of province and around the world, pork producers are proud to live and farm in Manitoba. They are also proud to sell their product to the people of Manitoba.

So many people want to both support their local economy and form connections with local producers.
