Manitoba hog farmers are among the most highly regulated producers in North America. We invite you to click on the links below to learn more about the regulations affecting the industry.

The Environment Act: This legislation has some rules which regulate the hog industry from an environmental perspective.

The Planning Act: This legislation has some rules which regulate the swine industry from a locational perspective.

The Livestock Manure and Mortalities Management Regulation: This regulation is the major set of rules governing the handling of manure in Manitoba as regulated under The Environment Act.

The Provincial Planning Regulation: This regulation contains specific rules related to sizes and location of hog operation as regulated under The Planning Act.
