Producer Services
Manitoba Pork Council offers many services to pork producers across the province. Not only does MPC participate in the Canadian industry's identification and traceability programs, but it is also home to Pork Credit Corporation and Manitoba Hog Grading.
Our staff is also responsible for administering the Canadian Quality Assurance and Animal Care Assessment programs, as well as performing trade advocacy on Manitoba producers' behalf and marketing pork within the province of Manitoba.
Manitoba Pork Council staff strive to provide as much timely information as possible to producers on the latest government programs, provincial regulations and other helpful issues.
Hog barn closures
Because many producers have been taking advantage of federal programs to help them exit the industry - at least temporarily - Manitoba Pork Council has gathered the information producers need to help them both determine if they should shut their barns completely, and how to do so properly.
