Our hog sector contributes more than $2.3 billion to Manitoba’s provincial GDP 2 every year, supporting jobs and helping fund the services Manitobans count on – from education and health care to roads and infrastructure.

Farm Jobs Attract New Canadians

Kenn studied veterinary medicine and worked in pork production in the Philippines, but both he and his wife had to work away from home separated from their family for months at a time. In 2009 Kenn had the opportunity to come to Canada as an agricultural worker. He was welcomed with open arms into the tiny Westman village that he still calls home today.
