Animal Care Technician - Morris, MB

Red River Genetics is an Independently owned 2000 sow - farrow to wean sow farm located in the Lowe Farm area. We currently export quality weanlings to the US. We are a highly productive farm where people and pigs come first. We are currently looking for fulltime permanent Animal Care Technicians to join our team.

Responsibilities
• Sow, gilt, and boar feeding program as per current practices
• Maintain herd health – sow, gilt, boar, and piglet care
• Daily breeding and/or farrowing duties
• Barn cleanliness – including washing and preparing rooms
• General Maintenance
• Maintain environment
• Use of proper animal care and handling techniques
• Understand and follow biosecurity protocols
• Keep detailed and accurate records
• Other misc. duties as assigned
• Rotational weekend work required

Preferred Experience, skills, knowledge and education
• Previous experience is an asset but is not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Dependable

We offer competitive compensation based on experience and knowledge. Salary range is between $16.00 and $22.00 per hour. Other benefits include a comprehensive benefit package, R.R.S.P., quarterly production bonus, semi-annual pork product freezer fill.
